Awareness and Acceptance in Anxiety‐Provoking Social Situations and Social Anxiety: Development and Initial Validation of the Social Anxiety‐Awareness and Acceptance Scale

Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is marked by intense in social situations and negative cognitions. We developed the Anxiety-Awareness Acceptance Scale (SA-AAS) to measure awareness acceptance anxiety-provoking examined relationship between awareness, acceptance, SAD symptoms. Patients (N = 412) with completed SA-AAS a set of questionnaires that evaluated trait mindfulness, self-focused attention, cost/probability bias, avoidance behavior, anxiety. An exploratory factor analysis revealed has two factors: “awareness” “acceptance.” Correlation analyses each had significantly weak-to-moderate correlation total score for mindfulness observing, non-reactivity, describing factors. Partial demonstrated no significant correlations In contrast, there were A one-way variance indicated low cluster, high cluster higher symptom scores concerning bias than moderate clusters. The reliability validity, was negatively related
